Good evening, 

 

My company has recently purchased a Xerox Versalink B405 Multifunction. We are having trouble getting the "job number" to match the scan number on our network folder. This is a major issue, because we scan hundreds of documents a day and need to be able to differentiate between scans. Does anyone have any suggetions? I have had our IT guy looking at it, but he cannot come up with a solution. I know it is possible, because we are currently doing this process on our HP MFP 500. Again, any help is greatly appriciated.

Hi,

 

I know that with recent updates FTP scan with High Sierra is not possible anymore.

So we are trying to use SMB instead as know it is working. We succesfully use SMB scan with High Sierra and a WorkCentre 6605 by simply sharing a folder within MAC OS using port 445 but when we try to use it with a VLC405 it doesn't work giving error  018-762.

What does it mean? Are they using different SMB versions?

Hi,

Scanning fails with the following error :

Error in main scanning process: Could not load file or assembly 'AcoustID, Version=1.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=nuN' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

This happens only when comparing byte-by-byte, not when using MD5.

Scan starts, the error message appears a short time into the process, I click OK, a box displays results after an abnormally short while (~ 15 seconds with a 264 GB folder). It says xx xxx groups of duplicates, but 0 files have duplicates. The Duplicate Files Tab does not appear.

I should clarify that almost all paper that I scan show up fine.

I have a document or two though that whenever I scan to myself, or more importantly "fax" to an efax e-mail address it shows up all black or will have little black squares in various parts of the scan if that makes any sort of sense...

 

We hit up our efax vendor and they recommended adjusting the scan setting on the Xerox machine to black and white (it had been on auto before that) but that doesn't seem to make a difference.

 

I've got a Lexmark MFP that I can scan the document fine on.

 

Our Xerox vendor is scratching their heads at the moment so I ask you, Xerox support.  What should I do?

 

Short Version: I have a particular document that for whatever reason turns out black when I scan it on 5 different Xerox machines.  One is even an older Fuji based Xerox that's a totally different model from an Alta.

Trying to configure some AltaLinks to scan to email. HTTP access is via a proxy server, which has been configured, but will the SMTP traffic use the proxy to get out? It doesn't appear so.

My WC6015 suddenly stopped working on scan to email and provide error code 016-503. There are many things that are happending, like the ethernet port does not seem to work. I have tried to upgrade firmware but it does not seem to be going to the printer from the computer (Ihave tried the network as well as the usb options - the firmware upload seems to go through but the printer does not respond). Back to the scanning issue - I have reset the email server settings without luck.

Our Altalink C8030 works great except when we send a print job while it's asleep it doesn't wake up. We have to awaken it for it to begin printing, which is a nuisance for people printing from the other end of the building. A support rep came and ran an update (firmware?) and said that it should awaken by default, but it did not fix the issue and we have been unable to contact him since. Is this a design flaw? Is this a setting that is hidden? Thanks.

Last drive notes explain compatibility with mac os high sierra, but only printer service run. There is no way to use scanner service in mac os high sierra, the printer doesn't appear in none scan software (xerox, image capture). Anybody is in the same situation?

 

The xerox custumer service was just a waste of time ...

In Versalink C7020  when scans to jpeg  it creates a subfolder with .XSM extension and in this folder the scanned images are coming , but in pdf and other format it comes as file. In earler workcentre there was a check box to enable and disable the .xsm folder but in versalink its not there.  Is it hidden some where or is that feature is not available on this model . Find the screen shot below

We have a Xerox® AltaLink B8045 that is receiving faxes printed on both sides (all faxes being received). We've gone into the machine interface and it shows 1-sided. We've gone into the web interface and it too is 1sided. We recently a had a IC board replaced and that's when the problem started.

Hello, my Xerox Phaser 3635MFP is spitting out an email confirmation report showing " job status: failed " although the email did go out.  since i get a copy of all outgoing emails in my inbox i can see them going to their respective destination. i even performed another test this morning and all recepients got the test message including myself but the machine still printed out the report showing 'job status: failed'.  any ideas?  FYI..running Windows 10.

To this printer it was necessary to change the pwb MCU, which was done and the procedure was run to make this change, after that I present a message that could not be deleted "Printer busy, work operation can not be executed" Before changing the old MCU, the MNV data in the ESW pwb was saved and after installing the new MCU the data was reloaded from the ESS, after that I present the busy printer message It is a Xerox WC 3615. What should I do to eliminate this message?

I've received my new Versalink C7025 yesterday and i'm still in the process of setting everything up how I want it, but one thing is annoying as Fck
The machine does not print an email confirmation page like my old Workcentre 7120 did. It only prints when theres an error. How do I change that? 

I was also told by the guy who did the installation that even if it did then it would print in colour and not Black and White. 

I'm sure that decision made a lot of sense in the USA but here in South Africa colour is too expensive to waste on a simple confirmation page. 

 

I need a confirmation page to give to clients. If such an option isn't available then please do so in the next firmware update.

Please Help  - when I try to scan (hard wired to router) I receive error :  completed wth Errror (016-765) SMTP Server HD Full - the scan does not come to my email.

Hi, 

 

  I Have setup the printing driver for Imac, but I facing 2 issues.

 

  1. I not able to change the paper setup orientation of my printing to the printer, which in printer setup as horizotal.  

      (no problem for Portrait)

  2. Scan to smb folder encounter error.

Hello,

I have Windows 10 x64 and WorkCentre 3220. Several times tried installing "WC3220 Print and Scan Installer", but computer still shows "Driver not available" and shows alert asking for Xerox V4 Print Driver. Tried to remove printer, reload computer. No success.

Please help. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

 

I have a customer with several multifunctional WC6655, WC5945 and B405. The machines scan without any problem and send the attachment but after an update that made the client in Outlook 2016, all shipments to make the B405 arrive well to the recipient but if it tries to resend that email does not attach the scanned information, I thought it was an Outlook issue, but the 6655 and 5945 multifunctionals do not give this problem when it comes to forwarding some mail made from these multifunctionals. Someone with a similar case or steps to follow, update to version 38.21.51

We make copies of certain physical documents on a regular basis. We'd like to save them for printing later so that don't have to be scanned each time. I understand this is called "scan to folder." According to the 550 manual there should be a "scan to folder" icon on the main screen, but I don't see it and can't find it under the six major icons. What am I doing wrong?

 

The message on the attached image that says "Communication error with Xerox ..." has been there for as long as I can remember. Is that the problem? We use the 550 primarily as a printer and it works fine for that purpose.
