When I scan something in, it tries to send it as a fax instead of sending it to the server. A notice spits out that your job cannot be sent.
Scanning sends to fax
"Recipient list has been cleared and job list has been deleted"
Hi Folks,
Got a C8045 that's misbehaving. User reports all scans receieve the message in the subject. Checked, and indeed I get the same thing. Of course, I Googled and got nothing even remotely similar to the error. Did a cursory check of the forums and got nothing too.
The cause of my hair loss.Went digging in the config, nothing out of the ordinary. SMTP is configured, from field configured, test configuration works great. But still, same error. Rebooted, same thing. Checked NTP, good to go.
So I pull another C8045, try scanning and it works great. I go through any of the settings that would cause something like this and set them to the working C8045 (there wasn't really much to change and nothing that in my experience would do anything) and it's still no dice.
Any ideas? I'm about ready to quit IT and start a goat farm.
Cannot fax
When I try to fax it dials the number but every time it gives an error and says 'No Answer'. I have tried from the pc and from the wk center. I'm lost!

Report SMTP Transfer
I have an XEROX WorkCentre 7835, which wastes a huge amount of paper with error reports, especially with SMTP transfer error reports.
I found a 2014 thread about something like that, but I can't find where to disable this report. This case has a link in the administration manual, I search for: reports, smtp, smtp reports and in none of these cases do I find the option to disable this function.
Could anyone help?
Scan to email deleting jobs
Good Morning,
I am having an issue with our AltaLink C8035 deleting scan jobs.
We are using Office 365 as our email provider.
I set up a new shared mailbox so all scans come from the same place despite what office you are in. I made the setting changes in the email setup of our machine. I made sure to copy all the settings from our AltaLink B8045 that is in my office that works perfectly.
I can successfully do a "test configuration" email that gets sent to me every time. But when the users are at the machime, the emails never get to them. The machine just shows "deleting job" on the screen and thats it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Double sided scanning all black page scan issue
Hello,
When scanning to email using the double-sided scan setting, one side scans as normal but the other side is an all-black page.
I cleaned the scanning glass and also wiped down the ADF and cleaned the Document Glass and the Document Cover. I also cleaned the CVT Glass and the DADF film on the Document Cover.
I pulled out and reseated the drum cartridges and cleaned the printhead lenses.
I did this while the copier was turned off and unplugged.
I attached a test scan of the issue I am having. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Error message DHCP server error 17-800
This message cannot be cleared from the machine. I cannot scan at all, either from the machine, nor from the pc.
Please help.
Thank you.
WorkCentre 6515 - Exceeded the size limit for scan to email
Hello
We're getting the message "Exceeded the size limit for scan to email" while trying to scan to email and although we have changed the scan quality, document type, etc.. nothing seems to help, is it possible to increase this limit?
For other Xerox models the instructions on how to change this limit are online but can't find how to change it for WorkCentre 6515, do you have any idea on how to change?
Thank for your help.

WorkCentre 6515 error 065-225, DYI Fix?
I've been getting this error on my Workcentre 6515 when trying to make double sided copies from the document feeder. The machine is just out of warranty.
As luck would have it, I have another one of these machines. This one with a scanner unit that broke some time ago (again, just out of warranty). At the time I replaced the machine because other than the breakdown I had been very happy with it (ease of use, print quality, paper handling, featues, noise level etc). So: I have spare parts!
The only question is: which part will I need to replace?
How I got scanning to email with gmail to work (2020)
Here is how I got scanning to email via gmail to work. The existing instructions ( https://atyourservice.blogs.xerox.com/2019/09/10/gmail-and-your-xerox-multifunction-printer/ ) are sort of out of date, so this is what worked as of July 2020 ... I'm sure it will become obsolete as well eventually.
The two key differences from the instructions above are:
- Create "App password" for using gmail with two-factor authentication enabled
- Change "Primary network" to "WiFi" because I have the wifi module installed
Firstly, it doesn't really matter what your operating system is here. Indeed, I have multiple computers and devices with various operating systems and this works for all of them.
Secondly, I'm sure there are more sophisticated ways to do this, but I've got this Workcentre 6515DP MFC for a home office setup and I don't have an IT department and a server closet with a corporate mail server and LDAP and security badges and single-signon and all that jazz. This is simple and easy to use and my kids can scan things without any problems.
This is going through the free gmail mail server that you can use with any gmail account and works if you have two factor authentication set up (which you probably should).
Step 1:
Create an "App password" for the printer to access gmail server (this one key thing difference from the officially published instructions, which tell you to use "Less Secure Apps")
- go to myaccount.google.com
- click on the "Security" icon
- click on "App passwords"
- you will have to authenticate with your google password
- "Select the app and device you want to generate the app password for."
- Select App: "mail"
- Select Device: I picked "Windows Computer" and then "Other" from the drop-down list ... because selecting "Other" directly didn't work (weird bug in the webpage; I'm using Chrome?)
- and named it "HomePrinter"
- "Generate"
- This creates a 16-character password. Ignore the spaces, this is just to make the password more readable. You should note this down (and after you are finished with the setup, you should destroy that information "Mission Impossible" style ... o.k. maybe not, but the password is supposed to be used only for this app.)
Step 2:
Set up gmail itself for using the free SMTP service
- Log into gmail and click on the gear icon in the upper right of the page
- Click on "see all settings"
- Go to "Forwarding and POP/IMAP"
- Enable IMAP
- Enable POP Download
Step 3:
Set up the time and date / time server for the printer. This is needed because SMTP mail will reject things that are not the correct time (you are only allowed to be off by +/- 3 minutes I think).
- Go the web server (in my setup, the printer is on my wireless network and has an IP address of 192.168.1.32. To get to it, I put 192.168.1.32 in the address bar of my web browser)
- Log in as admin
- On my printer, the default password was the serial number of my printer -- ALL CAPS! Some places say the default password is 1.1.1.1, but that is not the case for my printer.
- Of course I've changed it to something I like better
- Click on "System" ... in my web browser I had to scroll to the bottom of the list on the left of the webpage
- Click on "Date and Time"
- Set up the date and time
- Optional: Edit SNTP time server and set to time.nist.gov
- Click on "Date and Time"
Step 4:
Set up the "Primary Network" and "DNS" It took some effort to figure out that I need to set primary network! This was the last thing that I finally got fixed before it started to work. This is probably different from the normal configuraiton because I have added the "WiFi" option. Also, I'm forcing the printer to use the simplest protocol -- IPV4, and also telling it exactly which DNS service to use. I haven't tested all other possible combinations, but this works and there is really no reason to use more complicated setups for me.
- Log in as admin (if you are not already logged in)
- Click on "Connectivity"
- Click on "WiFi"
- Click on "Common"
- Click on "Primary Network"
- Set to "WiFi"
- Then, click on "IP Mode" and select "IPV4"
- Then click on "OK"
- Click on "Primary Network"
- Clicko on "DNS"
- Turn OFF Use DHCP to assign address
- After turning this off, a few new options will show up ...
- Set "Primary Server" to your router location (mine is "192.168.1.1" -- this is very common)
- Set "Alternate Server" to 8.8.8.8
- 8.8.8.8 is the Google DNS service by the way; it should always exist.
- Click "OK"
- After turning this off, a few new options will show up ...
- Turn OFF Use DHCP to assign address
- Click "OK"
- Click on "Common"
- Click on "WiFi"
Step 5:
Set up the SMTP server to use the free gmail server.
- Log in as admin (if you haven't already)
- Click on "Connectivity"
- Click on SMTP
- Set "Device Email" to your email address (I set to "DONOTREPLY@gmail.com because I don't want anyone to reply to the printer!)
- Set "Server Address" to smtp.gmail.com
- Set "Outgoing SMTP Port Number" to 587
- Pick "STARTTLS (If Available)"
- Set SMTP Authentication to "SMTP AUTH"
- Set SMTP Auth Username to your gmail address (me@gmail.com)
- Set SMTP Auth Password to the "App password" from step 1
- Click o.k.
- Click on SMTP
Step 6:
How to use:
- Nice to have: add emails to address book; add address book people to favorites
- Go to the printer and click on "Scan To" (you can be "Guest"; log in not required ... there is a way to change this but I have a pretty open setup because I don't need the security)
- Pick "Favorites", "Contacts", or "Emails"
- Favorites & Contacts
- Pick from the list; no need to type in the email address
- Emails
- You can type in any email address

DNS Server un-sets up in SMTP
Hi,
I have problems setting up the scan to e-mail functionality on my Xerox Workcentre 6515DN. The error code is: 016-772: DNS server un-sets up in SMTP.
On the workecentre: I'm logged in as admin with the default password.
My smtp setup:
Server:
send.one.com on port 465
ssl/tls set to startttls

(username and password typed in and checked multiple times)
Feedback when testing connection to SMTP: Can't connect through SMTP.
Any suggestions?
Cheers,

CANNOT RECEIVE FAXES FROM SELECT OFFICES
We have been having an office with one office not being able to send us a fax for the past few weeks, all they get is a denial sheet stating our line is busy everytime. Both offices can send and recieved faxes from other offices (except for one other for my office), I have spoken to the manager at this other office, and she has stated that this has been an issues before but was resolved, how, either one of us know. I have spoken to my phone company and had a Xerox technician come out twice. No one knows why this is happening!
Has anyone had this issue before?
If so, how can I fix it?
We have had this issue with one other office.
Thank you.
Error HTTP connectivity when Scan via Wifi
Hello,
I think I have a wifi connectivity problem related to the HTTP port.
When I try to scan a document from the MFP using windows scanning software, I get an error message regarding http connectivity. This only happens if I connect the printer via wifi, if I connect the printer via ethernet or USB, in these cases there is no problem and I can scan correctly. Report that I can print without problem via wifi, it only fails when scanning via wifi, it is strange.
I have installed the scanner using Xerox Scan Experience Tool 7.4.43.0_x64. I have added the IP assigned by the router and it has installed the driver without problem (I can see the scanner installed in the device manager).
I am not sure if I should configure any parameters within the printer or perhaps within my router. Maybe it's a windows problem? any firewall rules? The truth is that I do not know.
In these types of cases, what usually goes wrong?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards
